This week, our store manager Rob shares one of his favourite places to eat in Brisbane. Try not to salivate as you read.
With Mother’s day being last month I thought I’d treat mine to a nice lunch. Not just anything would do though. I needed something that could deliver on atmosphere, drinks and food. That’s where Clayfield’s Wooden Horse came in.
Situated in an unassuming stretch of Clayfield (right next to the train station) this hidden gem is constantly getting praise from anyone who has the sense to eat there. Walking through the front door transports you from the busy street into a warm and inviting environment.
Owned and operated by the very talented Hoey Brothers; this place always delivers the goods. After a cheeky lunch time Nigroni, we ordered entirely too much food including the duck liver parfait, fresh oysters, the squid special and pork shoulder.
The food was amazing, as was to be expected and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Mum was impressed and I left feeling like it was more of a treat for myself than her.
For anyone looking for some fine dining I cannot suggest Wooden Horse any more highly. This talented and young restaurant is soon to be on everyone’s favourite place to eat…whether or not you have a reason to go.
You can find The Wooden Horse Restaurant at 278 Junction Road, Clayfield Queensland 4011 or check the site here
